Jessica Morgun was born in Saskatoon, where she studied art education, going on to receive a Master of Arts at Regent College in 2012. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Saskatchewan. Morgun’s work is primarily drawing-based with an interest in installation, sculpture, and public practice. Her current research is focused on the problematic nature of monuments, both public and personal, as representations of epic histories. Her work has sought to bring drawing, as well as other ephemeral and transitory mediums, into the public sphere. Morgun has had solo exhibitions in Vancouver and Saskatoon, has curated a collaborative community art project in Saskatoon, has participated in several group exhibitions in Saskatchewan, and has upcoming group shows in Swift Current, Saskatchewan; Lethbridge, Alberta; and Toowoomba, Australia.
