For John Calvin, creation has an epiphanic and pedagogical purpose as it teaches the church in the “school of the beasts” with an eloquent herald that reveals his glory, beauty, and wisdom. Here, I depict a few animals that constitute part of the magnificent fauna of central Brazil, such as the onça pintada (Jaguar), the lobo-guará (Guara Wolf) and the toucan. My intent is not only to highly the beauty in our fauna but also to reflect on how we deal with the natural world, given that some of these are endangered species due to human predation.
